Quick & Easy Fork Biscuits

These are my go-to biscuit if I fancy baking something but don't have much time. They only take 5 minutes to make and 12 minutes to bake, meaning you can have super yummy biscuits in no time!

These biscuits are a adaption of my favourite Mary Berry recipe - although I have added a splash of milk and reduced the cooking time to give them a much lighter, almost 'cakey' texture! The melted chocolate finishes them off nicely, but if you want to experiment you could leave off the chocolate and add in lemon zest or even chocolate chips - whatever you choose these are a great biscuit to have as part of your repertoire!

You Will Need: (Makes about 10 biscuits)

- 100g Unsalted Butter, softened

- 50g Caster sugar

- 150g Self-raising flour

- 2 Tablespoons milk

- 100g Dark chocolate, melted

TIP! These biscuits can easily be made vegan (which I have done many times!) by substituting the butter for flora and leaving out the milk. If you still want to dip in chocolate, you can use Cadbury Bournville, which is naturally vegan! :)

Method:

- Preheat your oven to 180oc fan.

- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (I use a handheld electric whisk).

- Next add in the flour and milk and stir into a dough.

- Form the dough into 10 medium sized balls and place on a lined baking tray.

- Now flatten each ball by gently pressing down using a fork (you can wet your fork to stop it from sticking)

- Bake for 12 - 15 minutes until just starting to turn golden but not yet hard to touch.

- Cool the biscuits and then dip in melted dark chocolate and serve.

Enjoy! X
